Professor Pereira runs a top notch school and classes. I have a wrestling background but no BJJ experience. He has taken me in and has been very patient with me. When I searched for a BJJ/Muay Thai academy in the Reading, PA area I wanted the best and reputable school. I am 100% satisfied with my selection of the MMA Academy Home of Team Pereira. Thank you Professor, I look forward to growing under your guidance!

5. Submitted by Danielle Gambardella for Daniel Pilewski  - Tuesday March 21, 2017 12:24 PM
I have been training at Daniel's academy since September of 2015, with no prior martial arts experience. He has created an environment that is welcoming to newcomers, while still challenging and engaging for the more adept. His curriculum is well-organized and varied, with a healthy mix of basic and advanced techniques, all of which he explains with the utmost clarity. Daniel's passion for the sport is contagious; he truly wants his students to succeed and can often be found on the mats well after the scheduled end of class. Moreover, he is approachable and has a great personality. I am truly grateful to be learning from him.

MY JIU-JITSU RANT. BY: BOBBY THOMPSON

Here's a lengthy rant I put together on my background with the art and sport of Gracie/Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. I'm not a writer and I never blog so it's erratic and jumps around a quite a bit. Many of you have written me and I've made some friendships from having developed the site so I thought I would share a little about who I am, my history in the sport, some of my experiences (positive and negative) and my opinions about styles of teaching and things as trivial as terminology. Basically it's a brain fart. Please let me know your thoughts. These are just my opinions and they are not wrong or right, just what I believe. We are all entitled to them... click here to read the rest
