Being a member of her school is amazing. Bottom line this is the Jiu-Jitsu that Helio invented. With her being Relson Gracie's only female Blackbelt you know she has put in the work and is more then able to teach the original Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. Her place isn't just another Jiu-Jitsu place but she has built a family there.

Christy has been my instructor since I started bjj last september. Her technique is suberp, but what's even better is her attention to detail on forming useful habits. She stops years of misinformation by going over techniques so thoroughly. Her number one priority is the saftey and health of all of her students which makes for an excellent learning environment.

To me, patience and humility are two key aspects of a great teacher. Aside from these two elements, Christy also posesses a rich lineage of knowledge that she expertly transfers to her students. This even goes as far as helping people grow as human beings, so that they may be better jiu-jitsu players over time. A family vibe is definately conveyed within the walls of her Austin based Relson Gracie academy. Training there, to me, is an honor.

Christy is an awesome instructor. She has such a passion for Jiu-Jitsu that really is infectious; it just makes you want to strive hard to get better. And isn't that the point? She's also easy to talk to, knows her stuff, and explains it in a concise and easy to understand way. I feel pretty lucky that she's in my town and that I get to train at her academy. love it and her.

I have trained with Christy for nearly 7 years and seen her developed into an incredible black belt. More than being a black belt she has really become a fantastic teacher. I am currently a one strip purple belt but did some work with Christy this morning that, I am warning you, was a game changer for me. Feel free to come in and help me test that theory.

Christy has more experience than almost every woman in Texas on the mats. She has Instructed for years & has developed into a solid Instructor, anyone in the area should attend a class & get a roll in with her.

Christy is a very skilled and accomplished competitor that as transformed into a fantastic instructor. As Relson's first female to be promoted to the rank of Professor you can be sure to know that her self defense instruction is on of the best that Austin has to offer.

I've had the pleasure of hanging out and seeing Christy compete in some big tournaments in Ohio, and I was really impressed. She is as tough as they come, with really great technique. Years later I took an opportunity to train in Texas and the experience was great. What an awesome, and welcoming place to go. The students, took me in like I was family, and then I realized - I am family. That's the community and vibe that is created at her place. I'm sure there are a lot of other schools in Texas to train at instead of Christy's... I just don't know why you would.

Christy's Jiu Jitsu is solid and so is her instruction. She is always helping us to make our technique as accurate as possible because successful jiu jitsu is in the details. She is always open to questions and always eager to help and it makes for a very successful learning environment.

Christy is a great jiu jitsu instructor. She not only teaches jiu jitsu self-defense, but she's also well versed on the sport side of jiu jitsu. Whatever your goals, fitness, self defense, or high level competition, Christy can help get you where you want to be.

Christy holds the honor of being Relson Gracie's First and Only Female Blackbelt, an achievement that must be respected. If you're in the area you owe it to yourself to stop by her school.

Christy is all biznass on the mats. She knows her stuff and really strives to make sure all of her students understand technique. No short cuts no silly stuff. Well no silly stuff that is relating to BJJ. In addition to top level training Christy makes every class fun and is sure to get you to crack up and laugh a few times each class.

Christy is an amazing coach. Her instruction is highly technical focusing on leverage and proper technique perfect for practitioners of any age, size, strength, gender, whatever. But all that aside, what I most value in Christy is how much she cares about the development of each individual student, their progress, and their performance. I bounced around for years due to my previous career, so I've been around a lot of schools and even more instructors, and the defining difference is that Christy is committed to preserving pure Gracie Jiu Jitsu. Now that I'm a Jiu Jitsu instructor, too, with my own academy and students to think of, I have a responsibility to deliver the highest level of instruction available, so for my continued education, this is where I go.

Christy runs a great academy and close-knit community. Her knowledge of technical details and self-defense is top notch and her deep care and respect for Gracie Jiu Jitsu is always evident. For me a true team environment, with technical prowess, and Christy's relentless desire to see her students grow makes for a great experience. It doesn't matter where you are in your BJJ adventure, you can feel at home and grow with her help.

Christy really cares about her academy and the students that train there. We are learning Helio's jiu jitsu directly from Christy and Relson, where safety and self defense are top priorities. The technique is solid. Christy also offers women-only self defense classes, and in general creates a welcoming environment for women who want to train.
