I heard he got smashed and keeps getting smashed in any comp in the states. lol Did he ever place in a big competitions in the states? I mean he has to right? If you have such a big image in the PI and every body knows you as a bad ass shouldn't you at least place? I think Michael Langhi and Satoshi and Kron Gracie is in his weight class. haha ahhh He will be smashed... again... And im not a hater, im just saying...

@LoveLace This is for Rate your BJJ Instructor, Not Rate BJJ Player.I know that he is legit. I have contacted him through a forum a long time ago back in 1998 I think. I started in 1995 and I remember him being under Royce at the time..I mentioned that I might go to the Philippines and open a school up there..and I told Rickson that I wanted to do something under his federation at that time (Which was pretty big back then). I was a Blue with 4 stripes I believe at that time..we were both on the same level I believe. But I lost contact with him. Anyways, I know many and trained with many BJJ World Champions..Now can they teach? Not all of them are WOrld Class Instructors. I know ( I won;t say his name) a very good friend of mine who was the Greatest World Champion BJJ Player for a couple years..He is world Reknown to many...We'll he can't teach worth Crap. Another Example...I was a purple 4 stripe when I started training with Marc Laimon back in 2001...They had this kid..who just got his blue belt and when he taught some classes..his intruction was like a BJJ Black Belts instruction.....His name....SIM GO! SIm later became one of the nations greatest Grapplers for several years as well. My point is....You don't have to enter BJJ Tournaments and Win all the time to become a Great Instructor. It's the way you teach...Look at my great friend Gerry Costa. I actually bet he's probably not rated on this site..But he gives one of the greatest instructions I have ever seen. Anyways, Take Care. Pare Alvin, Keep up your great instruction and God Bless!

lovelace told the truth. this instructor is sh**ty when in comes to rolling and competition, but as Joe mentioned, he could be a crap competitor but a great instructor. He can compete anytime he wants but he will get smashed everytime, that's the only downside, but lessons he can picked up by losing he can teach to his students. Being destroyed in the mats everytime does not make for a poor instructor. I currently have a blackbelt brazilian instructor who teaches crap to beginners, I think he can't teach sh*t, but is awesome in competition. I would rather have a good instruction from a poor competitor than a shitty learning from an awesome grappler like my current instructor now.

A tough-guy wannabe, I used to see this guy in class before, just ordinary skills, nothing special. He was getting smashed every rolling, even against someone with the same size and build. Quite surprise now that he's a black belt already. I read somewhere that he choked an mma guy from a come-from-behind attack, not a fair fight, why don't you fight facing the guy?

Lang kwenta, sayang pera, hanap kayo iba, maraming mas magaling magturo at mahusay, puro porma at yabang...

Alvin Aguilar is the ONLY Filipino who has won a match in the mundials black belt division. And that's a fact. Don't listen to the jealous & sad keyboard warriors above.

Have rolled with this guy before when I was purple belt, before I stopped training. He was brown belt then, but his skills were blue-belt level. I wonder how he became black belt, perhaps from a mcdojo BJJ school? Not recommended if you want to learn BJJ, go someplace else. Filippino grapplers are weaklings.

Watched a Youtube self made documentary on this guy where he shows all of his stab wounds. Clearly points to an operation scar that runs all the way up his belly and states that it was from a knife fight. Has no shame at all to tell the most absurd lies. Shows some 20 stab wounds. If two of those were authentic it would only validate he must be the biggest douchebag in the world. Anyone proud to get in this many altercations is a dumbass. Anyone capable of getting in this many altercations is an asshole. Claims to have the courage to fight 20 people with knives but somehow doesn't have the courage to fight a single MMA fight or the skill to win any notable tournament. Funniest video I ever watched.

Self proclaimed "Bad Ass" left his wife because he fucked his student. Did an orgy in the Wrestling gym in Manila with his friends and just a pure douche bag. No MMA record and yet he calls himself the Father of Philippines MMA. Total bullshit.

Horrible instructor. Just so you guys know, that orgy was with a few of his male students.. Sicko!
