He is not just an instructor, his life IS Ju-Jitsu. He may not be a smooth talker to bring people into his class, but will shows you what he is capable of doing, and prove himself in what he loves and passionate about. His Samurai spirit is so hard to find nowadays even in Japan, and that makes him such a rare breed of BJJ instructor, THE BEST ONE!

Nobuo is a sincere and great guy. He is down to earth both as a person and on the mat in a sport that is often filled with ego. Moreover, he is very technical and constantly seeks improvements to his own bjj training so that he could be a better teacher to his students as well. I highly recommend him as a jiu jitsu instructor.

Professor Nobuo comes from a wealth of martial arts knowledge. His approach to Jiu-Jitsu is a lifestyle that he lives everyday. His technique is amazing and his ability to teach and share Jiu-Jitsu is very effective. Nobuo is always positive and helpful on the mat which encourages a good learning environment. He is always willing to roll and answer any questions that we have. We are very lucky to have professor Nobuo as a coach and instructor.

I have known Nobu for over 6 years and he is by far the best martial arts instructor I have ever worked with. If you want a teacher who is truley passionate about martial arts than Nobu is your guy! He lives the old school Samurai lifestyle and passes this positive mindset onto all of his students! If you want a teacher who is patient and goes through each technique step by step, than hire this guy!

Nobuo has provided personal training to me for 5 years. He is passionate about fitness and nutrition. He is by far the best trainer I have ever worked with (there have been many).....he stays current with health, nutrition and fitness techniques. As he trains, he watches the body mechanics and is astute at pinpointing weak areas that either need to be avoided or strengthened for the individual.

There are those who "talk" and there are those who "walk." I have had the privilege of having Nobuo Yagai mentor my daughter in Brazillian Jiu Jitsu. Nobuo takes his art of training beyond professional. He takes it personally which is why he is professional at its finest. My daughter is a world and state champion not only from training in BJJ with Nobuo, but the calm mental outlooks that he imparts in his training. As a parent, I've heard all the blah blah blahs from instructors, but when I first met Nobuo, I immediately knew he was the "real deal." With limited reservations, he proved my first inclination and we have been training privately with Nobuo for almost 5 years. Take it from someone who was exhausted with lemonheads, Nobuo is "far and few between." :)

Iíve known Nobuo for over 10 years, Nobuo has been my BJJ instructor for over four years and I continue to be impressed with his professionalism and technical skills. I believe due to his vast experience in Martial Arts and as a professional Personal Trainer he brings a well-rounded program to any practitioner. Nobuo continues to evolve and it shows in his classes and his own technique. Iíve trained in various Martial Arts for over 40 years and I would highly recommend him to anyone.
