Professor Ellwanger is a great instructor and mentor. He has helped me tremendously with the business side of running a successful Gracie Barra academy. I am very happy to have him come to my school and share his knowledge with me and my Students. He is a very giving person.

Prof Rafael Ellwanger is personally is responsible for getting me started in BJJ about 6 years ago. Since then I have lost over 70lbs, learned a life changing art, and now teach under him in Slidell, LA. He has done a so much for the growth of BJJ in Southeastern America! ANYONE, who has the opportunity to train with Prof. Rafael should absolutely take advantage of the opportunity!!

I've been training with professor Raffael for almost a year now and I look forward to every class. He moves with such precision and accuracy and thus far I haven't seen his technique matched. He's got a great sense of humor and brings an encouraging and inviting atmosphere to the humble art of jiujitsu. He's made me a Gracie Barra loyal for life!

I have known Prof. rafael for a few years already, and I really admire and respect his dedication to the BJJ life style and his great effort to spread the gospel of BJJ in the South. Great instructor, human being and a absolute great inspiration for all

words can not describe my professor. Virtuous, humble, an exellent instructor and an amazing friend to all his students. Thank you for the time and effort you have put into keeping bjj alive and prosperous in the south!

Moves unbelivably fast for a heavy weight, trains like a light weight and teaches like the incredible Gracie Barra brazilian black belt he is. Always has your back as a student and friend and deserves to be successful in everything him.and his family set out.to do.

Incredible teacher who always puts his students first. Has created a Jiu Jitsu empire in the south with students successfully competing at all levels. Highly recommended.

His love for this art is unmatched. He is a true teacher in every definition of the word. When you walk into any of his schools you can see right away he teaches to spread the art not to make money like a lot of schools out there. He makes his class fun but don't mistake fun for easy he is known for his tuff training. If you give him a chance he will change your life for the best. A great leader, amazing teacher, and one of the best friends you could ask for. It is a true honor having Prof Ellwanger leans me down my jiu Jitsu path I would fallow this man through the gates of hell to watch him choke the devil.

Excellent skills and character. Motivational teacher that leads by example. His love for the art is unmatched by any! If it weren't for his vision of Gracie United we in our community would not have access to the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

I cant say enough about Prof. Rafael and his academy. Aside from the high level and high quality instruction, his academy is comprised of men and women of high character and integrity. That is something that can only come from the top down. I am proud to be a student and look forward to many years to come with Prof. Rafael!
