Jeremy is not only a great grappler and super guy, his ability to teach and convey techniques, concepts and details is surpassed by very few. If you ever have the opportunity to train with Jeremy, DO NOT pass it up!

Jeremy has true heart and dedication to BJJ. He has spent many years now refining not only his own skill and technique but the skill and technique of all those with the same love for BJJ that he has. He is all about technique and teaching. He has for a couple years now used mass media like youtube in order to spread the "gospel" of great technique. If you live in or around NC/SC attending his lecture's or his school is a must.

Jeremy is by far the top instructor in the Carolina's! His school and facility are top notch, and his teaching ability is second to none. Do not miss the chance to check out one of his classes!

I'm a new student at GGBJJ and love it! Jeremy is a great instructor, very dedicated and obviously loves teaching BJJ. He has a very easy to understand teaching style, is very approachable and takes the extra time to help out struggling newbies and experienced guys too. Looking forward to many more years of being a student of his!

I got the opportunity to train with Jeremy while living at the ConnectionRio.com house and training at the Gordo Jiu Jitsu/Evolve MMA Academy in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Having trained Jiu Jitsu all over the world for the last 10 years, I can tell you that Jeremy is easily one of the best teachers of the gentle art that one can find. Not only is he articulate and able to break down techniques, but his attention to detail, firm grounding in the basics and encyclopedia-like knowledge make him head and shoulders above the competition. If you want to take your game to the next level then you definitely need to check out his website or visit his school!

I have known Jeremy for a very long time and the best review I can give is just to tell you the thing that stands out most about him, everywhere he has gone as a student, he has wound up a teacher.

I have done martial arts in one form or another for the last 15 years and I can say that Jeremy is at the top of the list as far as instructors go. Both my daughter and myself are lucky to have Jeremy as an instructor. He brings the same energy from the kids class into the adults class. He has a plan and if you follow it you will improve your game.

Jeremy is a top-notch instructor. That's not only because he comes from a teaching background, but because when class starts his students are always his primary focus. He's a consummate professional, and his instruction belies his rank of black belt. I can't imagine ever training BJJ anywhere else.

I have never been to a BJJ class with such a high level of Professionalism as Jeremy's. I traveled to Brazil to evolve my BJJ and learn from the birth place of the sport, but found myself loving the class that Jeremy taught over there! Jeremy's passion and dedication to teaching is like nobody else. He is a huge reason why i still do BJJ and i hope one day i will have the privilege of being taught by him again.

I have trained with Jeremy off and an for pretty much my entire grappling career. As a training partner, he was phenomenal, and he's even better as an instructor. Some instructors don't understand the finer intricacies of the sport, but Jeremy has a grasp of this that is second to none. If you want to piss your money away, go somewhere else.. If you want quality instruction from someone that has applied his life to the sport, the "Great Grappling" is the place for you!

Everyone knows Jeremy "Gerbil" Arel from his journey and blog during time spent in Brazil @ Connection Rio. I had the pleasure of attending his seminar on 12/10/2011 in Myrtle Beach, SC. Awesome time! Great techniques and he knows his stuff for sure. Even more than the techniques, I enjoyed his teaching style. Very direct, clear, and helpful. You will greatly enjoy your time spent with Jeremy!

Jeremy "the Gerbil" Arel is an amazing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instructor I was first introduced to, through his blog about his time spent at Connection Rio. His humor, good nature and attention to detail has made his teachings not only easy to learn from..but fun as well. Jeremy is also a contributor to BJJ.ORG and has been an amazing asset for us, consistently provided quality material and instruction.

I am a student at GGBJJ, so is my husband and son. I was mainly looking for a mentor/role model in brazillian jiu jitsu for my teen son and I don't think I could've picked anyone better than Professor Jeremy. He is a great grappler and an amazing teacher! Combined with his honest personality, his ability to always encourage and his unique philosophy of sharing his BJJ knowledge with anyone who's willing to learn... makes him easily the most desirable BJJ instructor in the area. We are so glad and happy to be training at GGBJJ

Jeremy Arel is by far the highest quality instructor I have ever had the privilege of studying under. He always takes time to keep tabs on each student, and frequently gives you personal tips and shares the minute details of even the most basic techniques that might be neglected by other teachers. No matter what your skill level is in comparison to others in the class, whether you are at the bottom or the top, Jeremy always has a way to make you grow towards becoming the highest quality grappler that you can be in a way that is mutually beneficial for all of the students that are training. At GGBJJ it truly is a Jiujitsu family.

Jeremy Arel is an awesome BJJ instructor and fighter. I spent a month plus training with him daily in Rio de Janeiro out of Gordo BJJ, and his teaching methodology was by far one of the best I've seen. He takes a 'game plan' approach to his classes, building day by day, in week long series' around a complete strategy. He builds all of his classes around repetitive drills, that are layered from conditioning to sparring, so that you build habits and technique into your muscle memory in each class. Having trained with a lot of great instructors, some of the best in the world, I don't hesitate to rank Jeremy Arel as a world class teacher.

I trained with Jeremy in Brazil for around 3 weeks. He was an excellent instructor, his classes were methodical and well structured. I was lucky enough to fit in a private session with him whilst i was there. He quickly recognised my strengths and devised something that suited me well. Jeremy is not only dedicated to BJJ, but instills further dedication to his students, this is something that a world class instructor should be able to do without hesistation. Jeremy does this naturally. He is without a doubt a world class instructor.

I trained with Jeremy in Brazil for 2 weeks. Every training session with Jeremy was very informative and the techniques shown were immediately applicable to my Jiu-Jitsu game. After each session Jeremy would also stay after class and pretty much give you a private lesson if you asked him. His enthusiasm and dedication to the martial art is very contagious. I truly hope to train with the Gerbil again.

Jeremy has dedicated a lot of time and effort to become skilled in teaching and in BJJ. I think the most amazing part is he went to school to become a teacher! So he really knows how to teach and get through to so many people on all different levels.

Jeremy Arel is a world-class instructor. His patient, kind, technical instruction makes jiu-jitsu accessible to anyone of any skill level. I saw immediate improvements in my game after just a short lesson with him. Jeremy has a knack for analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of your game and conveying simple, effective, and readily-implemented solutions. Jeremy's biggest strength is his ability to break down jiu-jitsu into real, relevant concepts in an easily digestible and accessible manner. Jeremy is also a nice guy with a good sense of humor who makes learning fun and enjoyable. I highly recommend Jeremy as a BJJ instructor.

Jeremy is a great teacher. He treats everyone the same no matter skill or rank. He teachs everyone with passion, and great patiences. He has a saying that true for everyone, a black belt is a white belt that never quits. Anyone in the charlotte area that trains bjj should stop in and see great grappling.

I met Jeremy at Connection Rio in 2010 and he really helped me with my jiu jitsu, giving me tips after class and always making sure I was improving. I enjoyed alkl the classes he took at Gordo's and he is one of the best technical instructors around and am proud and honoured to be his friend. His passion for jiu jitsu overflows when he is teaching and attention to detail is everything for Jeremy.

Someone I can actually learn from as he can adapt his teaching to a student's learning style and body, so I would reco him to anyone- any level, however, I am upset because I wanted one if his gerbil patches and he didn't have one for me, I think that patch would have elevated my whole game Jeremy
