Jon is both a highly technical instructor and an absolutely AMAZING competitor. As an instructor he offers each student individual attention during class, and all of the students always have the opportunity to roll with him; as a competitor Jon has an amazing number of submission victories, with the medals and belts to prove it. Go to his website and watch his highlight video, and you'll see all you need to know. HiGHLY recommended. His school also offers open mats 3x week.

Jon is dedicated and knowledgeable instructor that doesnít hold information back. He is also an awesome competitor. What I like the most is the fact that Jon constantly seeks out competitions to test and sharpen his skills. What this translates for us as students is useful technical information. The school is opened 6 days a week so you will always have time to train, and the atmosphere is very friendly. Iím very happy training at Tutaj BJJ not only is it a gym to me, but also a second home!

Jon is a great bjj instructor. He is very helpful to his students and goes the extra mile to ensure his students understand the techniques being thought. He is very knowledgeable and experienced in bjj. He is very friendly and laid back but very passionate and serious about the art

I haven't been to his school yet, but I trained with Jon for about 2 years and he's a great instructor.

The first time I saw Jon compete, before I had ever stepped foot on a mat to train, I was amazed by the beauty of it; it was like an art form. Jon is an amazing instructor; he breaks every movement down to its simplest form, and explains WHY it is effective on the human body. With Jiu-Jitsu being such a counter intuitive martial art, he instructs the student to train not only the body movement, but the mind as well, the logic behind the mechanics.

Jon is a passionate instructor, he doesn't hold back when he is teaching class and even refines moves of his students and visitors during open mat. He teaches moves that are battle tested for tournaments. Jon feeds the competitive nature of his students in a healthy way. He is extremely attentive to details (angles, torque, pressure and etc) since he sees Brazilian Jiu Jitsu through the calculative lens and mind of an engineer. Jon finishes most of his matches via tapouts and I am proud to be a videographer, to be able to capture the submissions on film. Check out his highlight video on the website. 1st class is free and there is no contract to sign. The school operates with the philosophy that no one should be bound by restricting contracts in order to train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
