We are very blessed to have Professor Marcelo here in Nashville. Our son has had great personal growth in confidence and strength in the short time he has been with the Professor. His style of teaching is what our children need. He does not baby the children yet is very loving. Our kids in America are too protected when it comes to injury and failing. Marcelo encourages them to keep getting up, to brush it off and be better all the while hugging and praising them. He is good!

While only training under Professor Marcelo for less than two months, he has already made me feel part of his family and has opened up all parts of my life to BJJ. Thanks Professor!

I started with Gracie Barra and Professor Marcelo was my first instructor. I learned a lot from him and still missing training with him here in Austin. He influenced my son to start training and allowed me to help out with the kids classes even though I was a white belt. Thanks for helping me start my journey!

I feel very fortunate to have someone of Professor Marcelo's caliber here locally (Nashville) to train my children. They're excited about class each day and I agree with what another parent said about teaching the kids to "dust themselves off." Professor Marcelo is great at showing the kids how to dig deeper to accomplish things that they might think are difficult at first. He's an excellent motivator and confidence builder.

The first class I came to Marcelo was very attentive, but after I signed up, I stopped receiving any attention. To be honest, no one receives much attention. During most of the class marcelo stands or sits by the desk and talks to his wife. He never shows enthusiasm when teaching the moves in the class. It almost seems like a burden to be teaching classes. I wanted to cancel my membership, but found out that there was a CONTRACT. When I signed up I was told there was NO contract. Very unprofessional.

Hey Lied To, No one lied to you. You signed the same contract that everyone else signed...30 day notice to cancel. Professor Marco does care and does like teaching. Why are you the only person on this site that didn't put their name? If you feel so strongly about this stand by what you say and let people know who you are. If you felt you weren't getting attention you should have discussed it with the professor, not whined about it on here.

Hey "Lied To", I agree with Brian, Professor is professional in everything that he does. I have been attending class for two days a week since October and I have never seen anything but enthusiasm for teaching jiu jitsu and attentive concern for the progression of his students.

" Lied to" : Not even God made everyone happy.. Who am i to be able to do that? What can i tell you is, unfortunately, instead of having a nice conversation and maybe showing what your feelings was i would happily help on all your concerns, you decide to come online hide your self, and talk about something never came to my attention. This is really sad... Jiu Jitsu is my life and my family's life. I dont need to tell anyone that but, of course i LOVE what i do .. I teach more than 20 years this beautiful art, i have thought more than 1000 students in my life.. where i go i miss them and they miss me, we are a real family... This school is open for only 4 months we have 100 students and only 2 people cancel the membership. I'm sorry but maybe you just did not fit in a family and positive environment. I hate to give this negative comment any more attention or energy but Gracie Barra Nashville is my family so I feel the need to say something as well. Im sorry BJJ is not your thing "lied to". But if attention is what you seek, you might find ballet or figure skating more fulfilling. I'm sure you will get all of the attention your looking for doing that. As for me, I am committed to Jiu Jitsu and Gracie Barra. Any man that would anonymously say these things about our Professor is a coward. That's just the way it is. I pray that you stay hidden in the shadows of your anonymity for your sake.
