Rodrigo Cabral has been a friend and an instructor of mine for sometime. He has that rare blend of physicality, raw strength, agility, flexibility all coupled with unreal technical knowledge. He is also a fantastic instructor and I wish he was still in the UK as he is someone I would be proud to still train under...... Highly recommended....... Miad Najafi Alliance Brighton UK

I had the privilege of learning from Rodrigo 'Brucutu' Cabral for a month and I can testify that his skills are 100% legit, both as a teacher and competitor. The techniques he showed were all high percentage, and he is a beast on the mat.

Brucutu is one of the best. I was a private student of his in the UK for several years and his knowledge, skill and ability is top class. The UK's loss was Brazil's gain when he returned home. On top of all of this, he is humble and one of life's good guys!!

Awesome instructor and fighter, both Gi and No Gi. Has a great ability to translate technique clearly and to run his classes - private and open, with great humour. One of the few adult instructors that also has great affinity with the kids, who enjoy his sense of fun. I trained with and had private and open classes with Rodrigo over several years. He is much missed in the UK!!

Rodrigo makes training fun and technical, all while keeping the tempo of class fast paced. It makes you forget how hard you are working until training is over and you are halfway passed out on the mat. I'm excited to come to class every day, and I feel the same attitude spreading throughout the rest of the students we train with.

Rodrigo is a great teacher, he takes complex techniques and breaks them down to simple steps. You can see his passion and commitment in every class he teaches. I look forward to coming to class every day to see what new skills he has for us. Classes are always challenging and entertaining, you never know what to expect. Rodrigo loves to keep us on our toes and it is amazing. It is a honor to learn from Rodrigo, and I am grateful to be one of his students and a member of Johns Gym in Austin.

Rodrigo's perspective on BJJ and competition technique is second to none. He has an ease with teaching so to guide one to look down the road further to stay a few more steps ahead of your opponent. He has great attitude and you can tell he cares for his students!

I first met Rodrigo when he gave a free seminar. During that seminar, he rolled with some of the attendees and seemed to be smiling whole time. These were testaments that he loves what he does and I knew this was who I wanted to learn from. A white belt with stripes from him would give trouble to a lot of blue belts from some other people.

It's rare to come across an individual that is a world class practitioner (in any profession) AND a world class teacher. Usually, the person is one or the other, and in the case of Jiu Jitsu, Rodrigo is both. Gifted in teaching students of all levels and ages, Rodrigo has the extraordinary ability to identify what his students' capabilities and needs are, and the technical expertise to explain and adapt (if need be) the lessons to them. The learning environment is perfectly balanced between intense and fun. I consider myself extremely lucky to have had the chance to learn from him.

Rodrigo is a detail oriented extremely technical instructor. He divides his attention evenly between his competitive students and his hobbyist students. Rodrigo assists each student in developing a complete game designed around his/her strengths and weaknesses by assessing the students physical abilities and teaching movements designed to maximize the students overall progression. He spars with his students every class and fosters a team environment. I am fortunate to train with Rodrigo Cabral.

I have trained at one of the academies where he teaches at but I have not had a good experience with Rodrigo. Not a bad one either just an honest experience. No doubt he knows his bjj, no doubt. But to me he seems very unmotivated at times and wouldnt care to answer questions well enough. At times all he would do is just sit down and watch students roll. Never really heard words of encouragement from him to any guys, perhaps on their own times or private conversations, but not during class. His techniques are great but there is no foundation, just random techniques on a day to day basis. A great fighter himself, just found him unmotivated and not very motivating. My own experience only.

Rodrigo Cabral have earned my respect and loyalty with the highest quality coaching, he has created a supportive environment, and built great group of quality teammates. With a deep knowledge of the game, he easily is able to provide options that work for me as a larger ( 300lb) blue belt. He always pushes, and get's the most out of his students.
