Jeff is a great instructor. His knowledge and patience make him one of the best. I had my very first Jiu Jitsu class with Jeff about 3 years ago. I couldn't take Jiu jitsu for certain reasons at the time, but now that I have been fortunate to do so after years, I remembered Jeff and his great teachings. I came to his gym and now I would not go elsewhere. He is my coach, mentor, instructor, and friend. Couldn't be happier with him.

It is hard to put into words all the great things Jeff is but I will try. Motivated, focused, kind, mentor, bjj is in his blood, great father, skilled coach, supportive, role model, and this guy would give you the shirt off his back. Jeff has been a hugh inspiration in my life and many others. The bjj he teaches is effective and comes from years of experience. If you ever get the chance to train with Jeff don't pass it up.

Was nervous at first walking into the dungeon located on pinemont. Jeff approached me and his encouragement and atmosphere presented to me, was all it took. Jeff is an amazing instructor and friend. I can't express my thanks in words, but I do appreciate Jeff and our entire Revolution family. Jeff saved my life with jiu jitsu and I'm greatful and forever in debt thanks Jeff. If you only knew brother.OSs !!!

I don't even know where to start. Hands down one of the best Men I've ever had the privilege of calling my friend. Kind, Caring, Generous, and an all around Bad mother F@*$er. One of the few Black Belts in town who still competes on a national Level. And has had students Win Gold at every level and belt. From teenage phenoms to just starting out middle aged moms. When looking at schools look at how long the students have been training under that instructor. We've got lifers at our dojo. Your the best Jeff.

Jeff is not only a great coach, he is an excellent role model for my son and for me. He has inspired me to train hard because he does. He has taught me that the only way to get good is to work as hard as you can all the time.

Jeff is one of the most patient and devoted instructors out there. He has the ability to balance being your friend and mentor that most teachers lack. Even though I was never the most devoted student, Jeff has been nothing short of enthusiastic whenever it comes to improving my Jiu Jitsu. If you have never trained with Jeff, you are missing out.

I have been training with Jeff since he opened his Katy location.Jeff is an active instructor that lives his Jiu Jitsu. He is a true martial artist and an incredible athlete. He is always exploring new technique, but never forgeting the fundamentals. Jeff is like an older brother to all his students and really cares about each person like family. I highly reccomend training with Jeff Messina if you get the opportunity. BJJ Revolution Team!

I have had the privilege of training under Jeff for 4 years. In that time, Jeff has become a great friend and mentor. He has been instrumental in my development as a martial artist and person. Training at Jeff's academy, Revolution Dojo, has given me so much - true sense of health and a drive to be ever improving, confidence, friends and much more. As others have posted, Jeff deserves respect for his proven skills while continuing to "lead from the front" by competing and succeeding. Competitions aside, Jeff is a kind and centered man who is as comfortable teaching a class full of children as he is teaching professional fighters. If you are still reading I would urge you to try one class with Jeff and decide for yourself.

Hands down, A great man who cares about everyone who walks in the door. From the child to the guy who wants to be a fighter. I have improved my game with Jeff's help ten fold. When its time to compete; I KNOW I can go out there and perform well. His coaching is second to none.Once Jeff is in your life; he's a loyal friend who will fight for you to be the best person you can be to yourself and your family.True Martial Artist, been in the game for a long time, knowledgeable, experienced, true to the BBJ life ( loyalty, family, training, brotherhood, sound body and mind).Jeff has a over abudance of BJJ technique and demonstrates that in international competition and with anyone who wants to roll. No buying belts at this school. Jeffs going to make you earn it through blood and tears. A teacher who rolls with his students everyday.Hurt or tired you always get the best Jeff has to offer as an instructor.Jeff gives you the confidence to know your capabilities to know how far you can push yourself, your threshold for pain, and to walk away knowing that you are apart of something real and unlike any other thing in the world. Jeff has an unsatiable appetite for new technique and skill and I've never seen anyone work harder for his students and his gentle art.Jeff is a blessing in anyone's life who has the pleasure to call him a friend. One of the greats in this sport with a tremendous respect for those before and after him. If you ever get the opportunity to train with Jeff Messina, dont pass it up. I promise it will be an experience you will never forget. your the best meu amor,

I arrived at Jeff's gym about a year ago, with about 2 1/2 years of previous BJJ experience. One of the first things I noticed with Jeff is that he was not only an extremely knowledgeable, welcoming and positive instructor, but he will coach and roll with anyone that comes to his gym regardless of size, athletic ability, or experience level. Besides Jeff being a highly regarded BJJ black belt in the Houston area that still competes, he has earned the respect of all his students for the kind of guy he is – which means more than the belt rank he holds. Despite that we have our BJJ belt ranks at the gym under him, Jeff always made us (his students) feel that we train WITH him and not UNDER him. One year later, with a BJJ National Championship title under my belt and 35 pounds lighter, all I can say is... Thank you brother!! I couldn’t have done it without you. BJJ REVOLUTION TEAM !! OSSSSS.....!!!

I've been training under Jeff for 5 years. In my time at Revolution Dojo, I've gotten to know him as a mentor and friend. Jeff has done much more than just "run class" and go home. He's dedicated and invested time in me as a person and many others at our gym; both on and off the mats. Jeff has proven his skill in competition, and through his teaching, his students continually do the same by placing and winning in both local and national competitions. If you are an active competitor, or just want to try out the martial arts, I highly recommend training with Jeff Messina; you will be glad you did.

Jeff Messina is a great instructor! The first time I arrived to his gym a year ago, I was extremely nervous because I was the only female in the class and had no prior training. Despite that, Jeff made feel so welcome and safe in a class full of males. He is very knowledgable, patient and understanding towards his students. If you had not had a chance to train under Jeff you are missing out!

If you want to train with a legit BJJ black belt, this is the place in the West Houston/Katy area. Jeff’s manner of running a gym is very conducive to learning. There is a great vibe at Revolution Dojo that is set by Jeff. The students there are respectful and humble and this makes everyone feel very welcome. It is a real joy to go and train in this type of atmosphere. This is something I had not experienced at 2 other gyms where I had previously trained. I liked my experience with Jeff so much that I signed up my 4 sons and now my wife is also training there.

I just started at Jeff's school and can honestly can say I have learned more from his school than the other school that I used to attend to. Jeff is personable and always attends to each student regardless of belt which is important especially starting out. I am glad I made the move and wish that I moved sooner! I enjoy attending classes and actually don't want to leave because the atmosphere is so awesome.

I just want to personally thank Jeff Messina for all of his hardwork and dedication as a coach. When my husband came home from Iraq the first thing that he told me he wanted to do was find a gym and start training Brazilian Jiu Jistu. After a long search he found Revolution Dojo. Jeff accepted my husband and I with a welcoming spirit. The past three years training with Jeff has changed my husband's life physically and emotionally, for the best.Jeff has been a mentor and above that a great friend to my husband. Jeff is willing to go above and beyond what most instructors will do for their students. He trains daily, he has a positive attitude, but more importantly he believes in his students and his team.

After moving to Houston in 2008 and trying other BJJ schools in the area, I can ensure that Jeff is one of the best instructors in the area. I started BJJ with Alliance under Romero "Jacare" Cavalcanti, who taught me how to love and respect Jiu-Jitsu, but most important how we became family. No other school in the area had the same mentality until I was introduced to coach Jeff Messina. This a place that everybody will treat you with respect, help and push you harder to improve your game and where you will find training partners with no ego. No many coaches will put the gi on and roll with you. Jeff Messina, a great person and a top BJJ coach.

A great instructor and great man he makes me feel like a better man and like I'm better at jiu jitsu everyday. Everyday I walk out with more knowledge in jiu jitsu thanks to him. He is a caring man and treats everyone in the gym like a family in which we are and he makes us realize that

Well, I don't really know where to start. I have known Jeff for 6yrs now, and I can say since the first day I walked into his jiu jitsu school I was excepted and felt rite at home. Jeff is an outstanding role model in this sport and as a man period. With the love and passion he shares in this sport , it's only natural it rubs off. I consider him a great coach, but even more a friend and a brother. There is a reason why at Revolution Dojo we are not training partners , but family.

Jeff Messina's Bjj is way overrated. Seen him compete many times and it was like I was watching a blue belt... He isn't all that.

Jeff is probably one of the best blackbelts I have known personally, most of all one of the best people I have ever had the fortune to meet. His jiu-jitsu is definitely world class level and his jiu-jitsu is some of the most technical. Jorge Macaco Patino, even told me once, "Jeff is one of the most technical blackbelts I have ever gone against" Revolution dojo, has produce multiple IBJJF open champions, pan am champions, and a female world champion. The results it's self speaks about how good Jeff Messina''s jiu-jitsu is and how strong his academy is in Katy TX, 80 deep some nights with entire rainbow of colors..

Jeff is a phenomial BJJ instructor and a great role model. His level of BJJ is extremely high and he backs it up by actively competing and winning ibjjf tournaments nationwide. He's not just a talker, he's a doer. Many people can talk a grip of shit, like Justin one of the posters above, but don't have the balls to put it all out on the line, or even have the accountability or integrity to leave their last name when posting something clearly false. Revolution Dojo is a phenomenal Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gym. I have been involved in BJJ/MMA/MT for over 10 years, having fought professional MMA and still actively competing in BJJ tournaments and I love it here. If you are an active competitor this is the place to be. There is a high level of training partners, and someone is always getting ready for the next tournament, mma fight, kickboxing fight, etc.

Jeff is a great instructor, mentor, friend. I've been in Bjj since 2001 and Revolution is one of the best places I have ever trained. I advise Anyone with anything negative to say, to pay Revolution a visit and experience the rolling for himself. The caliber of athletes as well as the caliber of people is unmatched in my humble opinion.

Jeff is the real deal. i believe it's enough to see the results of those he's trained. A real champ through his accomplishments, humbleness, responses, instructions, devotion ... etc. this man can transform your life if you give him a chance. a great example to any athlete not only BJJ fighters. I've been a member in Revolution Dojo for a year now, and the only regret I have is that I did not join earlier. I met a big family of champions and devoted athletes that i'm proud to be around.

Justin and aj(not the real AJ Hoffman). Sorry your not impressed with my Jiu Jitsu. Feel free to come by anytime for a free lesson. I strive to be the best fighter, professor and man as possible, sorry to disappoint you two.

Great instructor with high-level technique. His competition background speaks for itself, but Jeff is always willing to roll with just about anyone. It speaks volumes about an academy when the head instructor regularly competes and medals at the largest tournaments.
