I had the privilege of training under Daniel “Ski” Pilewski for two years both in Texas and while we were deployed to Iraq in 2010-2011. Daniel is an extremely well-rounded practitioner with tremendous knowledge and ability in BJJ, wrestling, and Modern Army Combatives (level 4, the highest level). He has a true love for BJJ and is always ready to train. He was quintessential in building a “fight house” in Iraq and instructed training to countless Soldiers to make them more lethal on the battlefield. Daniel focuses on the basics…POSITION BEFORE SUBMISSION!!! I can still hear him saying that…I can’t wait to get up to Connecticut to train with him again.

Daniel Pilewski is an awesome person, a patient Instructor and has helped at several of my seminars and at my classes in many places. He has taught in front of me and done an awesome job. I have seen him as a Combatives Instructor in the Army and you can tell he has a great love for the sport.

Having spent some time training and rolling with Daniel and a few of his students I can say with confidence he is as legit as they come. Do yourself a favor and check out his academy. You will not find a better guy to train with in CT.

CT is lucky to have Daniel. His continued commitment to his students and his personal growth is very impressive. He regularly attends seminars and workshops at my school in NY, always seeking ways to improve his craft. If you're in the area look him up and see if Authentic Gracie Jiu-Jitsu is for you.

I first met Daniel Pilewski in July 2014 when taking my 4 year old daughter to his Relson Gracie Jiu Jitsu Academy for class. Daniel is very patient with the kids and does a great job of describing the techniques and keeping the kids focused on the lesson all while keeping it fun. I personally had no prior experience in any form of martial arts or wrestling, but after meeting Daniel and observing his coaching style I in November of 2014 started trainning in BJJ under Coach Daniel. Coach Daniel is very detailed in describing and presenting techniques. Daniel is very knowledgeable and experienced, not just in BJJ but also through his time serving in the Army as a combatives instructor. I respect Daniel and consider myself lucky to have Daniel as my instructor. If you are from Connecticut and considering training in BJJ checkout Daniel Pilewski at Relson Gracie Jiu Jitsu Academy.

I've been training with Daniel since July 2014 and love him like family. He's an awesome instructor; very patient, keeps training fun, maintains a competitive yet very safe environment and is overall a fantastic human being. I'd never consider training anywhere else in CT. Please come in and roll with us- we are always excited to grow our Relson Gracie CT family.

I have been training at Daniel's academy since September of 2015, with no prior martial arts experience. He has created an environment that is welcoming to newcomers, while still challenging and engaging for the more adept. His curriculum is well-organized and varied, with a healthy mix of basic and advanced techniques, all of which he explains with the utmost clarity. Daniel's passion for the sport is contagious; he truly wants his students to succeed and can often be found on the mats well after the scheduled end of class. Moreover, he is approachable and has a great personality. I am truly grateful to be learning from him.
