Excellent instructor. Very knowledgeable not only in the curriculum he is teaching but also in the history and culture of the sport. He is Willng to put in the time with each individual student and give them the type of personal instruction they need.

Coach Shane is an outstanding instructor that I would trust my training and my kids training to. Unlike other instructors I've had occasion to train with, Coach Shane has the right balance of confidence and humility and is willing to admit and learn from others in areas that he might not have all the experience/knowledge. An instructor that still acknowledges he is a student is a key mark of maturity and leadership. On the mat, his skills and knowledge is evident as he patiently works with us BJJ newbies, and has a way of teaching and drilling the material so we can apply them "live".

Ever since training with Coach Shane (under a year) my game has stepped up allot compared to another school i use to train at. Ive learned so many things in such little time. The way Coach Shane trains us is in a way it grinds into our heads to stay. Coach Shane is dedicated to BJJ and his students which makes him a great instructor. As long as Coach Shane is teaching BJJ, ill be there!

Coach Shane is an awesome coach. He has a lot of patience and explains things thoroughly. If someone in our class has questions he always has an answer that will better our game. He instills in us to always have fun and never give up. He always tells us to know your lineage and the history of the sport. I've never trained jiu jitsu before but for coach Shane being my first instructor, it would be hard for me to adapt to another instructor. We also have a kids program and he has a big heart for them. I always see the kids smiling. My while family trains BJJ under coach Shane and we enjoy it a lot. We look forward to everyday training BJJ. MahalOSSss!

As a female in this sport I feel very comfortable with Te training Coach Mount gives us. The number if female teammates has grown over the last few months and I truly believe its because of Coach Mounts patience and teaching style. Everyday it is instilled in us to push forward when thugs are tough and to challenge ourselves ... Without this I would not be where I am today in my game and my life. I would recommend Coach Shane to any female who is interested in training.

Coach Shane is a solid jiujitsu instructor with a real passion for the sport. He is extremely patient when he is explaining techniques and very detailed. The school is a family friendly place with a group of solid teammates having fun each night on the mat together. I look forward each night to my hours of training. I now have my 4 year old daughter involved and she can't get enough either.

Coach Shane is a awesome "COACH"! My son takes his BJJ class and I watch how Coach Shane interacts with the kids and I could not be more impress on how much patience he has with them. When Coach Shane is teaching the kids he gets right on their level and explains things thoroughly to them. I am amazed on how much respect the kids have for there Coach. My son has Sensory Processing Disorder and Coach Shane is really good with teaching him especially when he is having a episode. My son thanks highly of Coach Shane and that is saying a lot. After watching Coach Shane teaching my son and the kids, I started taking the Adult BJJ class and I was real happy with the way he explains and shows us. Don't get me wrong Coach Shane pushes and pushes us until we get it right. I really enjoy taking the BJJ class and I would recommend him in a hart beat.

I started training with Coach Shane a year ago. I had never really heard of this sport until I came in contact with him. One year later I can honestly say that it is a source of relief for me. I have never been the athletic type and have a very busy career, but Coach Shane has shown me the visceral link between sport and life. The mark of a good teacher is one who can seek out where their students excel, but the mark of a great teacher is one who takes the time to understand the complete inner workings of each of his/her students...this is Coach Shane. He is not interested in strengthening your "strong" . He wants to strengthen your "weak". He wants you to leave class each day feeling more confident in this life and "ready for battle off the mats", than when you walked in. He instills in his kids classes the understanding that they are little hulks that can take on any challenge life offers them so long as they have discipline, respect, and persistence. He is so very talented on the mats...it's like breathing or second nature for him. His entire existence is dedicated to improving each student's game...on the mats, in tournaments, and most importantly, for people like me...in life. He understands BJJ in a way that is indescribable and still has the wisdom to understand that he is forever learning. This is his secret weapon...for his game and his students. Quitting on his own self improvement, his students, and in this life, is not in his vocabulary. There isn't a better BJJ coach in this area...i guarantee it.

Coach Shane is someone with a real gift for teaching. Coach's passion for martial arts is evident when you meet him, and he can use his experience in other systems (Shane holds Black Belts in Kyokushin Karate, Taekwondo, and Judo, in addition to being a Kru) to help break things down mechanically. He pushes his students out of their comfort zones, and classes build from simple concepts to complex ones - always focusing on the basics, and making sure students understand the "flow" of how one technique rolls into the next. Here's the secret, though - it's not just Coach's skills as an instructor that makes his school an awesome place to train. The environment is one that encourages questions and experimentation, while always keeping an individuals student's end goal in mind. The team feeling on the mat isn't just talk, it's reality, and all of us work to make our teammates better in addition to improving our own skills. Coach Shane built that community from the ground up, and I'm lucky to train there. Come roll with us an see what I'm talking about!

I started training under Coach Shane knowing absolutely nothing about Jiu Jitsu. In a short period of time I grew and learned so much. My intentions were to have a fun new way to get in shape. While making exceptional progress in this area, I absolutely fell in love with every aspect of the sport and it has now become a major part of my life. I ended up with some amazing teammates who help me train everyday and improve. These teammates, however, are so much more than that to me; they are my family. Coach Shane instills this sense of "team" and "family" every day through the way he teaches. He is truly an inspiring coach who only wants the best for his students. His passion for teaching this sport is apparent every single day. Whether it is in the kids or the adult classes, where they all smile, laugh and learn. I can guarantee you that there is not a better coach in the area. He just has that "way" of explaining and breaking down techniques to make sure you really get it. :) Come train! OSS!

Coach Shane is incredible with kids and especially my Daughter. I went to a few different gyms but my daughter was not impressed. She only wanted to go with Coach Shane...She is very intuitive! :) He knows how to keep them in line and earn their respect but also knows how to have fun with them and keep them interested in the knowledge that he is giving them. He also takes the time to teach them step by step and does not just let things slide. Keep up the Great work Coach!!

Coach Shane and I met about a year ago and he welcomed me into his gym. As a white belt, Shane not only helped me and was patient with me but also always had me looking towards the future and the positive. He gives constant support to his students and is so rigorous in teaching every little detail in every guard pass, submission, take down, and everything along the way that he leaves little room for failure. As an athlete I have come across a million coaches. A coach as passionate and knowledgable in their sport (not to mention talented) is makes them one in a million. Coach Shane is easily my favorite coach I've had. Enough so that I recommended his to my younger cousin who now trains with him as well. Phenomenal Coach.

Coach Shane is a great coach! His passion and dedication to BJJ is evident. His knowledge and technique is unmatched and reflects his years of experience. What we most appreciate is his patience and persistence with our kids. He not only teaches our son effective BJJ but also demands sound morals, judgement, respect, and discipline just to name a few. We are fortunate to be able to train with Coach Shane and hope many others appreciate the opportunity as well. We will continue to train with Coach Shane and truly appreciate his instruction.

My 2 boys have been training with Coach Shane for closing in on 3 yrs. Coach Shane has a passion, enthusiasm and love for BJJ that bubbles out of him through his teaching and the atmosphere he has created at PJJA and its a contagious attitude. On top of his knowledge of the sport and its history he also is one of the only Coaches in the area that still runs his gym based on honor, respect and discipline and that's a key ingredient in what I was looking for when I was looking for a place for my boys to train a coach to reinforce what their mom and I teach at home. I couldn't see or wouldn't take my boys any where else it's not just a gym its a family and friends!!! If your looking for a place for your kids or yourself to not only train and learn about the sport but become a better person and learn to hold yourself to a higher standard and just become a better person I ook no farther then PJJA with Coach Shane...

A black belt doesn't make you a great instructor just as a great paint job doesn't make a junker best of show. Coach Shane is one of the best coaches I have met. Coming with a martial arts background of almost 20 years, it's hard to find someone I felt comfortable learning from. Coach Shane breaks down techniques into the simplest of terms and detailed steps and builds from there. He gives you ample time to drill before introducing the next step. Coach Shane also preaches the family aspect of the gym. He is very upfront about people caring for one another. He doesn't stand for the "meat head" coming in and just trying to tie someone in knots. He is very real and you can tell his passion for his art and that is very contagious.

Coach Shane is an amazing coach who really cares for his students. He teaches with a fun atmosphere for kids and adults and he's very passionate about what he teaches. Not only does he teach martial arts, but he also emphasizes the importance of discipline, respect, and hard work.

I feel that Shane Mount is a prideful individual who demands respect and loyalty from others, but refuses to reciprocate.
