My 5 year old son & I started training BJJ with Sam in April 2013. I was 275 lbs, my cardio was nil and never heard of an Arm bar. I couldn't keep up with the other students with the drills and was gassing after only a minute of grappling. I'm now 240 lbs and cardio has greatly improved. I still have a long ways to go. I can keep up with the drills.. but not Sam! He is great motivator inside and outside of class. I too feel privileged to have a guy like Sam as my instructor. He keeps the class fun while he whips us into shape! Thanks Sam for all you do!

Sam is a very technical instructor who always ensures his students understand what is being taught.

Started with Sam 7 months ago now. Coming from bodybuilding it was a challenge to adapt to a highly dynamic art like Jiu Jitsu. I was really worried at first that I made a mistake about starting but Sam being a true professional at his craft kept me motivated. After only 5 months of training with Sam I won my first NAGA event. During the match it seemed as if no one was even close to my skill level and conditioning witch surprised me since I have been training such a short time. I would recommend Sam to any body looking to get into BJJ.

I had the pleasure of training with Sam Kimmel when he was a purple belt. I was so impressed with his technique, positive attitude, and passion for BJJ that I paid to take private lessons from him. At the time his instruction assisted my BJJ game exponentially. If the opportunity presents itself I would HIGHLY recommend learning BJJ from Sam. He is an excellent instructor and a stellar human being. He is an exemplary example of what a martial artist should be.
