Professor Hallert is one of the most technical instructors around. He teaches everyone to explore their own game and how to make BJJ work for them. He doesn't limit people by size, athleticism, or flexibility, but rather to teach them multiple ways a technique works and why.

I met Jerry when I joined a Law Enforcement Ground Defense class. As soon as I walked through the door, he made me feel welcome and created an environment of no matter what patch we wear on our shoulder we are family in our profession and our training. When he teaches, he makes his students feel that he cares about them and their learning experience. I am honored to have him as a teacher and a friend.

Jerry is a great instructor and also an innovator. He created an entire law enforcement curriculum using bjj and then actually used them in street scenarios on the job to make sure that they worked before he taught them to others. All the while not hurting any bad guys that fought with him. Jerry is also a great competitor placing in the top three in every competition he has gone to since he was a blue belt. Great instructor and a great friend.

Jerry makes everyone feel comfortable on the mat! He teaches great technique, while instilling a passion in even the youngest of BJJ students. My 6-year old daughter adores him and has made great improvements in her movement and technique since Jerry started teaching her. Weare lucky to have such a wonderful BJJ instructor!!

Jerry has a true passion for BJJ which comes through in his teaching style and is catching on the mat. Our school is very fortunate to have an instructor of his caliber who is able break down the moves to easy to understand concepts for all the different levels who attend class. His attitude and enthusiasm for teaching makes him an outstanding instructor.

Professor Jerry is an amazing and enthusiastic instructor. He teaches all students - kids and adults - to have confidence in themselves on and off of the mat. He takes time to answer any and all questions that the students have and breaks down the answers for better understanding of cause and effect. Every class is inspiration for all students to be better practitioners of our art. We are truly lucky to have his talent and knowledge at our disposal.

I first met Jerry because my three kids started taking BJJ classes. They love the classes Jerry teaches the most because he really has a way of engaging them and giving them each attention even in big classes. Jerry is fabulous!!

Jerry is an outstanding and motivational instructor. His attention to detail and ability to explain technique in the simplest of terms are skills any practitioner can find useful. I have several opportunities to train with him a week and I continually only wish for more.

Got to roll with professor Hallert today and was blown away by his skill level. Made me feel like the BJJ journey will be worth it in the end and was extremely humble.
